about

The lost album.
We spent all of touring hard, trying out new music and spreading our wings live. That was how we did things, live first, and then recordings. This material was earned in every corner of the world with all of our hearts.
When we finally got home it was time to record. The abum, just as the mixdown was ready to take place, was erased completely in a hard drive accident. We toured in 1995 for an album that would never be released. A hard year, a challenging tour, a big huge change.
When we were finally back on Bryant Street in San Francisco the only thing to do was to try to recover these pieces, and release a version of the material which reflected what the previous two years had meant to us. A very different album.
There was one single - Funky Back Home - which was released in its original form. It reflects the fury and focus of the album which was lost.
But this collection of songs was a personal reflection on loss, and our own attempt at healing ourselves and each other with love and forgiveness.
